Management and organisation

Malmö Academy of Music is one of three institutions belonging to the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts at Lund University.

Faculty Board

The Faculty Board at the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts has the overall strategic responsibility for its three institutions – Malmö Academy of Music, Malmö Art Academy and Malmö Theatre Academy.

Board of Directors

At Malmö Academy of Music, the Board of Directors is the highest decision-making body. It consists of 12 members; seven teachers, two other employees and three student representatives, including a doctoral student. They are appointed by election in each category. The school's Head of Department is chairperson. 

Committees

Malmö Academy of Music has six different committees: 

  • The Research and Research Programmes Committee (FFUN)
  • The Quality Committee for Undergraduate Education
  • Educational Committee - Performance Programmes in Music and Church Music
  • Educational Committee – Music Teacher Training Programme
  • Equality Committee
  • Environmental Committee

They all operate, are responsible and take decisions on matters within their own area of expertise.

Collegia and councils

Malmö Academy of Music also has a number of smaller collegia and councils that act as planning and coordinating bodies in various subject areas, in addition to having an advisory and preparatory function for several of the committees and the Board.

The Southern Choir Centre

The Southern Choir Centre (Körcentrum Syd) is a choir centre established by Lund University which aims to work as a platform for the choral life in southern Sweden.

Organisationally, The Southern Choir Centre belongs to Malmö Academy of Music.
